Xcom Enemy Unknown

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a tactical strategy title that places you in command of a global defense initiative fighting back against an alien invasion, requiring you to balance strategic base management with intense team-based combat.

• Tactical Turn-Based Combat: Organize your squad across grid-based battlefields, leveraging destructible cover, elevation advantages, and the Overwatch mechanic to systematically dismantle hostile alien forces.
• Operative Progression System: Select starting classes, distribute trait points, and unlock unique skill trees that adapt to your playstyle, while tracking veterancy wounds and psychological morale throughout long campaigns.
• Geoscape Command Layer: Navigate a procedurally updating threat screen, route interceptors to down spacecraft, manage funding streams, and prioritize research projects to transition from basic firearms to advanced kinetic and psionic weaponry.
• Permanent Loss Protocol: Every deployed soldier faces irreversible mortality upon defeat, forcing you to weigh calculated risks carefully and rebuild capable teams after every engagement.

This release appeals to strategists who prefer deliberate pacing and meaningful consequence over action-heavy gameplay. The layered structure keeps you engaged by constantly shifting priorities between long-term facility upgrades and immediate field objectives. You experience a tightly designed loop where preparation, adaptation, and precise execution determine whether your initiative secures humanity’s future.
